Rovos Rail

Rovos Rail operates from Capital Park Station in Pretoria in the new South Africa. The train is colloquially known as The Pride of Africa and has won international accolades because of its high end accommodation, entertainment facilities, service excellence, fine dining and world class sightseeing.

Rovos Rail is in effect a train come luxury hotel. The service undertakes various routes throughout Southern Africa. Each train has two lounges, two restaurants, and en suite accommodation compartments.

Rovos offer three variations of sleep quarters with the entry level called a Pullman, offering around 80 square feet of lodging space all the way up to a Royal Suite, which covers fully half a train car.

The company was founded by Rohan Vos in the late 1980s. Rovos Rail has a staff compliment of over 200 people ranging from those who act as hospitality staff to craftsmen who dutifully restore and renovate carriages at Capital Park Station.
